This free version of 'Any Video Converter' makes video conversion to be an extremely easy process. And fast too (depending on your hardware resources, of course). You can try and convert a large variety of video formats, starting with the popular AVI, MPG and VOB and ending with 3GP, RM, MKV or FLV. The program allows you to convert video files to mpeg4 (mobile phone, Sony PSP), mpg (DVD video PAL and NTSC), mpg (MPEG1, MPEG 2).

Using the program is very simple due to it's intuitive interface. Output files can be customized in terms of duration, audio and video options. The important thing is that batch conversion is supported. Of course, the program has less features than the commercial version, but I believe it is definitely worth a try.
